Contrary to popular belief, the rules of Blackjack are quite simple. The first thing you should know is that Blackjack is not about getting so close to 21 without being eliminated.Your goal is to win against the dealer!
When you think like that, your whole perspective on the game changes. There are many ways to play and so many different variations of Blackjack that we will cover the most basic rules necessary to understand a basic game.
Blackjack hands: Card combinations and values
The main objective is to reach 21 points. The cards are simple:
An ace can be 1 or 11.
Letters 2 to 9 are worth what they are .
Kings, Queens, Jacks and card 10 count as 10 points.
Card betting and distribution
The game begins with players placing their bets at the indicated location on the table. Each player receives two starting cards, facing upwards showing what they are. (In Blackjack you play against the house, not against other players, remember?)The dealer also receives two cards, but one up and one down.
You can’t play without knowing the words and expressions used in the game simply because you need them to play.
Stand – Stay on the table. If your game is good, you can keep what you have. Usually when your hand is between 16 and 21.
Hit – To ask for more cards if the hand is adding up to 11 or less. Just tap the table in front of you. You can dehydrate as many as you like as long as it does not exceed 21.
Double down – If you have a good hand, you can ask to double the bet and receive only one additional card.
Surrender – Withdrawing from the hand, withdrawing half the bet and waiting for the next round.
Split – Split a pair when you receive the first two cards of the same size and you receive another one and can use the separate one for the next hand.
